Old lowrey organ models

Lowrey simply did the home organ 'thing' better, and they did so long before the days of fully orchestrated backings, they only arrived in 1980 with the MX1. Finally the Suzuki era, and eventually even they realised that the home organ market was dying and pulled out to concentrate on clonewheel products. And you wonder why they went under (the first time)? Then came the Australian owned era, with organs like the Composer series. Then the LSI era, Cougar, Maverick, Dolphin etc. ) Then the Yamaha and Ace Tone built VS series, just as bad. They were looking at alternatives even then, and found the answer in Everett! J100, N100, N300, K100 - now those are really 'classic' sounds.

Labour intensive, costly on materials and so financially unviable. The days of the tonewheel organ were numbered as far back as the 1960's. You're entitled to your opinion of the 'classic' Lowrey sound - and I assume that you really mean the 'classic' sound, 1950's-1970, Heritage, Berkshire, Lincolnwood etc - but there are plenty who would disagree.
